Dear Friends,
Welcome to A Near Run Thing, a literary journal of historical fiction. Throughout history, few men have come to define their eras. One of these few is undoubtedly Napoleon Bonaparte. Within his era, rightly labeled the Napoleonic Age, one can easily become enchanted with the countless stories present. As such, A Near Run Thing seeks to continue that tradition. Our journal publishes fine works that examine both the Napoleonic and the French Revolutionary eras. Please see our submission guidelines for more information. On another note, our name is derived from a quote by the Duke of Wellington, who described the battle of Waterloo as "a near run thing."
A Near Run Thing is edited by Michael Seeley, an historical fiction author and Napoleonic scholar.
